The 2010 Winners

Thankyou to everyone who nominated and voted for their favourite UK beauty bloggers.

After 3 weeks of voting with over 1,600 individual voters voting for their favourite nominee in each category, BeautyJudge is pleased to announce the winners!

The winner of The Beauty Leader Award

With an astounding 615 votes, is Zoella.  Congratulations Zoe!

Of winning this award, Zoe said:

"I am so overwhelmed that so many people thought I deserved this award, I only started this blog as a hobby on a boring evening so I'm extremely happy to have helped and inspired so many girls/women & I will continue to try."

Her best tip for new bloggers starting out is:

"Just be yourself, enjoy what you're writing & appreciate every follower you have..even if you only have 3, this doesnt mean you are a failure. Blogging is not about failing and winning & it's not a popularity contest. These 3 people like to see what you write, even if they don't comment."

The winner of The Everyday Woman Award

Is Of Faces and Fingers and is written by Jerlene.  Despite only starting her blog in December 2009, Jerlene received an incredible 174 votes.

That's 52% of her readership who took the time to vote her 2-month old blog as their favourite!  Congratulations Jerlene!

When told she had won this award, Jerlene said:

"This award has honestly come as a total surprise to me. I am overjoyed, humbled, and indescribably thankful to all my readers who voted! I'm also grateful to everyone who has interacted in some way with my blog, be it leaving comments, twittering me, asking for swatch requests, or simply reading my blog! Without them blogging would not be half as fun as it is for me. I really owe it all to them."

Jerlene's best tip for new bloggers starting out is:

"First and foremost, focus on content and writing. I know that's a really slow and uphill road, and it's tempting to look for shortcuts, but in the long run this is probably the biggest factor for any blogger, because at the end of the day, it's the content that gets people to return to your blog and become regular readers.

Also, in this era of ever-abounding get-rich-quick-schemes, I'd like to stress that blogging isn't a quick route to fame, fortune, or even free stuff, and blogs which blog just for one of these reasons aren't going to survive long - it really has to come from a passion for whatever you're writing about."
